Title: Looking for sponsors
Post by: Nataliia on Apr 13, 2022, 03:52 PM
Good afternoon.  Me and my daughter (20 years old) from Zaporozhye, Ukraine.  Of the war, we were forced to leave home and now we are in Warsaw.  I ask for help to leave temporarily for your beautiful country.  Please help us with travel, housing and work.  I am 63 years old, I have an economic education (I worked in banks).  My daughter is 20 years old, she studied sociology.  We also have a 9 year old cat.  We are a friendly family.  We are asking for help.  Thanks

Hi, Natalia, and welcome to this forum. I have passed on to Lisa and Stuart and asked them to look to add you into our matching process ... we are just a small part of this beautiful country.  I have used the email address you signed up with as a contact point - is that OK?  You can also email me via graham@ukraineuk.info .

The "Homes for Ukraine" scheme in the UK helps link up [British] hosts and Ukrainian guests and British hosts look for potential Ukrainian guests - our group help that looking, as very few of us knew anyone from Ukraine just a few weeks ago and very few of you knew any of us. British hosts register with the scheme to say they have places available (so that is housing), and then potential guests apply for a visa.

Once a visa is sorted out, we are looking at travel ... and I can (and will be more) writing up about that - but it comes after the visa.   Once you get here, take a look at work; in our part of the country there are plenty of opportunities unless you can only work in your area or expertise - all the banks in our town have closed as people bank online now, for example.   Do not worry too much about the gap between arriving and finding a job, because there is support available while that happens.
