There are several local people who have volunteered to help with translation services, but what if they aren't available at the exact moment you need them?

I tried something with my Alexa, and it worked.

"Alexa, translate into Ukrainian...<your English phrase>"
(This works with other languages, too.)

If you do not own an Echo device, several models at varying prices are available on Amazon.
As of this writing:
• Echo Dot £39.99
• Echo £49.99
• Echo Dot Speaker £49.99
• Echo Dot Speaker with clock £59.99
• Echo Studio £189.99
• Echo Show £239.00
(plus others at a reduced price for earlier or refurbished models)

You don't need a monthly Amazon Prime membership to use any of the Alexa Echo products above; just download the app on your handheld device.

QuoteI'm getting a temporary workaround the language difficulty by using Alexa to help me out. See forum topic for more information: http://ukraineuk.info/23

Thanks, Lisa.

The Babel fish is a small, bright yellow fish, which can be placed in someone's ear in order for them to be able to hear any language translated into their first language. Ford Prefect puts one in Arthur Dent's ear at the beginning of the story so that he can hear the Vogon speech. Sadly, it is fictional but technology is bringing us closer. https://hitchhikers.fandom.com/wiki/Babel_Fish

Not the cheapest, but I have 4 of these. You can connect up to 4 earpieces to one phone and have a highly accurate conversation. Tested with Russian to Chinese. They don't currently support the Ukrainian language, but useful if you're sponsoring a Russ... See https://www.waverlylabs.com/?fbclid=IwAR3j_epDspm-35WOlQ8iEnZc8b0ByRHk60lQfBYHOmpcKBdHy9ohIlq35FM

And in writing, Google Translate.
